Immigration Crackdown

In a recent opinion article on the USA Today website the Editorial Board voiced their perspective of the new immigration laws that are coming into effect. I am noticing that the intended audience can be for a wide variety. This article is targeting the affected immigrant populous and those who need to be informed on the happening of the recent events and actions of our current administration.

The credibility of the Editorial Board can be taken with a grain of salt in my opinion. Even though USA Today is a nation wide outlet for news it does not mean that there is a personal sense of bias in the editorial. The initial argument is that illegal immigrants are being targeted and that the presidency is going about this all wrong. With data to back up that 60% of Americans believe that immigrants should be allowed to stay and eventually apply for a citizenship.

With an increase that will cost taxpayers billions just to hire more than 10,000 immigration agents. I agree that this is all unnecessary. To have families broken apart and children to fend for themselves is wrong and immoral.

Yes I can see both sides of the spectrum and see that undocumented immigrants that committed felonies should possibly be sentenced to a fair trial and if the circumstances that be decide then deportation, but not when people who have only committed misdemeanors or a parking ticket. The logic behind this is that more money is being taken out of tax payers more than what should.

More than what is now being put towards government aid. The reality will hit sooner than later that more and more money is being drained from our pockets and our nation to keep people out. Soon employers who hire undocumented immigrants will be cracked down on. Personally working in the hospitality and hotel business it is shown that over 90% of housekeeping staff are undocumented, but they are here in this country to make an honest living and to provide for their families just like we all are. These are strong opinions if you look at it through blue and red, but in the eyes of a human being does no one else think this is a bit dehumanizing and wrong?
